Portugal Has The Lowest Tax Value in EU Zone
Eurostat released the data recently. This data shows that the annual rate of inflation in the euro zone fell 1.3% in June to 1% in July. According to the published information, Portugal presented the lowest rate of single currency in EU zone.
According to available data, it is necessary to go back until November 2016 to find a lower inflation rate in the euro area than in June and July.
As for Portugal, the National Institute of Statistics (INE) shows that the country has registered an inflation rate of -0.3%. However, Eurostat, the European Statistical Office, harmonizes the inflation rate to make comparisons across countries, causing Portugal’s value to fall further to -0.7%.
Thus, Portugal presented not only the lowest rate in the euro zone, but also the only one with a negative value. It is also the lowest rate in the European Union (EU). The countries with the highest inflation rate were Latvia and Slovakia (3%).
Data also shows that inflation rate also fell in the EU from 1.6% to 1.4% between June and July.
