Portugal Achieved The Largest Reduction of Co2 Emissions in The European Union

Minister of the Environment says that Portugal will not dispense with the leadership in the decarbonization and that this will be even more evident when the data for 2019 are known.

Portugal has taken the lead in European countries that are reducing carbon dioxide emissions by achieving a 9% reduction during the year 2018. This is more than triple the reductions that the countries of the European Union (EU) have achieved on average, Eurostat revealed. This is a news that the Portuguese Government applauds, with the certainty that it will have a reduction of the same order of magnitude next year, and that it will assure the position of European leader in the fight against climate change.
